Money runs Baseball into a non sport

January 30, 2008 / by theprofessor

If the papers are correct in that Santana is signing with the Mets, what in the hell is the Commish doing about having parity in the great pasttime.  Come to think of it, the rich get richer and the poor get left in the banks of the river.   Just what in the world has the sportsworld come to?  The Mets signing the lefty with great credits and the rest of the league wondering how in the hell are we going to beat this team from the great state of NY.  Something is rotten in Denmark and it ain't the stench of Steinbenner getting pissed off by tghe mnute that his son missed out on this coup.  Money has ruined most sports once they get their hold onto the core of the sport.  Lets stop calling sports sports.  Lets call  it what it has become.  A mercenary League and Paladin would be proud,as he had "gun and would travel".

Baseball is business and business is money.  It used to be that baseball was a sport and a sport was the fun of the game/competition.
