To Mow or Not to Mow

October 17, 2007 / by theprofessor

The other day I decided that I would mow the lawn while my companion visited her mother. Whee normally rides the mower and I do the grass whipping, raking and a little push mowing. However, she must have known the damn thing would not start as she was out of here in a NY minute. When I tried to crank it over, nothing, nada, nil,. zilch, zero. So being the male chauvinistic pig that I am, I decided to use the pushemower and do about an acre on the side of a hill. Got it done, grasswhipped as well. Oh, failed to ,mention that before doing this I fixed some gutters and this was about an hour of work. No problem, said I. Could hardly walk up the hill to ge the mail. No problem as it sure did look good. That evening, my companion and I decided to hit the JACUZZI and it was relaxing to say the least. Nice warm water splashing against my aching muscles. However, when it came time to get out,low and behold, cramps in my inner thighs that went from my waist line to the inner knee. No problem. I'll just rest on my arms while the cramps go away. Shit, the arms cramped up and I am now in big trouble as I can not move while standing up in the Jacuzzi and in the utmost pain. It finally subsided. I goes to bed and when I roll over, Yikes, more of the same in my inner thighs. After about 10 minutes of pain, pain, pain, I decided to give up the bed and go and try to sleep[ on the Lazy boy. After about an hour of just great uneasiness, I got to sleep[. The next AM I struggled to get out of the chair, but had no pain, just sore as hell muscles. So in the future, if the battery is dead, the lawn will klnot be mowed until the battery is replaced.

To prevent lower back pain, I must sleep with three pillows under my knees. If my dogs disturb my position, I can awake with my body bent like a corkscrew. After exercise I can straighten, but I want to return to bed. [LOL]
